Ultradata selects Sensory speech recognition for Road Genie® hand-held Navigator

Low-cost GPS alternative accepts voice input via Sensory IC

Santa Clara, CA. May 12, 2005. ...Sensory, Inc., the world leader in embedded speech technologies today announced shipments of the RSC-4128 speech recognition IC for use in the Ultradata Road Genie® Audio Navigation System.

Voice-Enabled Traveling Companion
Utradata Systems, Inc. (OTCBB:ULTR) selected the Sensory RSC-4128 for the Road Genie Audio Navigation System. "This low-cost, easy-to-use highway travel product provides real benefits in price and simplicity," said Monte Ross, CEO of Ultradata. "Our earlier generation product named the Talking Road Wizard was a hot seller, using and providing voice output in addition to electronic display. With Sensory’s voice recognition technology, users now may speak their commands for a truly hands-free experience. For example, when in the FOOD category, you just say 'McDonalds' and it responds, 'McDonalds, four miles, exit 165, east one mile.'” "

The hand-held Road Genie provides customized verbal directions and driving times to services and towns across the continental U.S. It has over 80,000 services near highways, and over 100,000 pre-programmed city-to-city directions that can be called upon as needed by the user. The Road Genie retails for less than $60, and may be ordered on the web from www.roadgenie.com.

Low Cost Speech ICs
Sensory’s RSC-4128 is the latest in the RSC line of speech micros, allowing manufacturers to replace their existing 8-bit microcontrollers with a voice-enabled solution. According to Todd Mozer, Sensory’s CEO, “Adding speech I/O is becoming increasingly popular for the next generation of user interfaces in consumer electronic products; Ultradata’s Road Genie is a great example of how innovative companies can improve their user experience with our technologies.”

The RSC-4128 is a powerful 8-bit microcontroller inside a voice recognition system on chip (including 16-bit ADC, DAC, digital filtering, RAM, ROM, output amplification, timers, comparators and more). Sensory’s FluentChip™ software runs on the RSC series chips and allows for high-accuracy speech recognition, speaker verification, speech compression and output, music synthesis and more. Sensory’s Quick Tools (Quick T2SI and Quick Synthesis) allow rapid vocabulary development, and tools from Phyton (www.phyton.com) enable software coding and testing with an assembler, compiler, and in-circuit emulator working together under an integrated development environment. Though full-featured, the RSC- 4128 ICs are extremely low cost, selling for under $2 in large volumes.
